Sunriver 2018

We spent a week in Sunriver at the end of August. We didn't make any summer plans until late in the game so one night Ty and I sat down and searched for accommodations at the all the places we like to visit. Sunriver was by far the most affordable and one of the only places still available so we enthusiastically booked ourselves a room at the resort, thrilled that something so perfectly fell into place.

Seven hours on the road with three kiddos could have easily turned into a disaster but they all did surprisingly well. We made it four hours before we busted out the iPads (for the first time ever on a road trip) and that occupied the boys for the remained of the drive. Hazel took two naps and barely made a peep in between.

Sunriver is a lovely place to vacation and we spent most of our time walking around, riding bikes and swimming at the pool. We haven't traveled much since Hazel was born and managing the logistics of three sleep schedules and three sets of wants was frustrating at times, to say the least. Sometimes it feels like the more fun things we do for our kids the more winy and annoying they are. Despite all of that, it was fun and refreshing to be away with no agenda besides being together. Ty and I are bogged down with so many chores and responsibilities that it was a nice break. Bend is beautiful and being there always brings back fond memories from my childhood.

Oh, and the sunset photos make my artist heart sing.
