Easter 2019

Easter was pretty quiet this year and the kids were particularly crazy. We spent Saturday doing our neighborhood egg hunt and we went to church in the evening. We woke up Sunday morning to a visit from the Easter bunny at home and then spent the majority of the day in Seattle with Chris, Kari and their girls.

A pastor spoke at MOPS this year about how Easter gives us hope that stories in our lives without a happy ending aren't over yet. When things don't turn out as we want them to we can continue to hope, we can continue to pray, and we can trust that in the end God makes all things new. I've always found the resurrection story to be a bit abstract but as I've learned more about the layers of symbolism in the past few years I am understanding it in a new way. It's a beautiful reason to celebrate indeed.
